Compost and Soil

Compost adds nutrients to your plants and helps retain soil moisture and is often referred to as ‘black gold’ for your garden. It normally contains a mix of items that are high in nitrogen (grasses, weeds, plants, vegetable waste, coffee grounds) and high in carbon (leaves, wood chips, sawdust, shredded cardboard, newspaper).

Lawn dressing will incorporate organics back into the soil, thereby rejuvenating and initiating new growth to your lawn.

These lightweight granules can be added to repotting mixes and will increase water and nutrient retention and aerate the soil, producing happy and healthy plants. 

Perlite is a type of inert volcanic glass that is used to aid drainage and air retention in compost.

Ideal for germinating most annual, perennial, monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous plant seeds. Manufactured from carefully selected raw materials at the ideal pH for germinating most seeds.

Coir fibre is manufactured from Cocos plumosa. Just add water to your coir block to expand. Mix with soil to boost water retention and improve aeration, making it an excellent potting medium. Finest quality and an ideal growing medium for plants. 

Orchid Mix is ideal for potting up orchids and re-potting old ones.  A loose barky mix that allows air-flow over the orchid's roots.  In this way the orchid can take up nutrients from the air.  The loose mix allows the roots of orchid to dry and prevents rotting.

Vermiculite can be used to encourage seed germination and improve soil structure. This is because of its aeration and water-holding properties. VLite vermiculite is exfoliated to ensure a top-quality and sterilized product.

All soil is not created equal. The soil your tomatoes love will suffocate your succulents, and the soil that keeps your cactus in peak form will frazzle your ferns.  Succulent mix is well suited for growing succulents. Added silica sand assists with drainage and added coir retains just the right amount of water.
