Shopping online with Cape Garden is simple, secure, and made for garden lovers like you. Whether you’re shopping from your couch, your garden, or after hours, we’ll guide you through the process. Here is what you need to know to avoid disappointment and to help you understand the process:
DELIVERY AREAS:
We only service areas within a 200km radius from our main branch located at 56 tarentaaalstreet, Joostenbergvlakte, Kraaifontein (Cape Town) We do not currently deliver anywhere outside of these areas.
DELIVERY:
Our delivery timeframe exists for several operational logistical reasons. You can expect delivery within 2-5 days.
Our team will make contact with a delivery date and your order progress during this period.
Delivery time is determined by whether we have sufficient quantities on our retail floor and whether we need to order stock from our growing farm in Vredendal when we do not have the items or quantities available at our main Joostenbergvlakte branch.
We value every client order but we can unfortunately not squeeze in deliveries as this would affect the timeline of other orders placed before yours.
PICKUP / COLLECTION ORDERS:
Your order will be ready for pickup within 2-5 days.
Our team will make contact once your order is ready for collection at our Joostenbergvlakte branch.
Your order completion date will be determined by whether we need to order stock from our other branches or growing farm in Vredendal when we do not have the items or quantities available at our main Joostenbergvlakte branch.
Your order can unfortunately only be held for 7 days from the day that we have notified you that your order is ready for collection. Thereafter it will be returned to the floor and a 40% handling fee will be deducted.
AVAILABILITY :
Online quantities are not a reflection of what is available at our Joostenbergvlakte branch or any other branch.
Quantities shown online are the totals of our growing farm/s, retail branches, pot factory & warehouse. For this reason the period of 2-5 days for collation.
Now and then while selecting an item we may not be happy with the quality. Then we offer an alternative or a refund for that item.
NATURE:
-Each plant varies, especially according to the season, and your order may have fewer leaves, flowers, or fruit than the photos used on this website for illustration purposes.
Please also consider that some plants by nature have brown tips/leaves as part of nature’s regeneration process. Palms specifically can have torn and brown leaves as is the nature of the product. We will never send poor quality plants. They are living products that go through phases, whether it is on our retail floor or in your garden. When you notice cracks in the bark, take a moment to compare with other large shrubs or trees in nature to determine whether this is a natural part of growth as the bark expands , or a sign of actual damage.
CANCELLATION:
Once we receive an order, we start collating items. If for some reason you have decided to cancel your order, please notify us immediately upon receipt of this email to avoid handling fees and banking fee deductions.
RETURNS:
Cape Garden are unable to accept returns on Plants. If you are not entirely satisfied with the condition of your plant upon receipt thereof, please email or whatsapp us a picture of the plant, its label and the reason for your dissatisfaction within 24 hours of having received your plant.
On merchandise, other than plants, we have a 14-day refund policy. Please notify us via email the reason for return or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. A refund or exchange is based on the cost of the item and does not include collection fees. To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase via email.
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If your refund is approved, a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within 3 days of the matter being resolved.

Online shopping for your garden is wonderfully convenient. Just remember to keep delivery timeframes in mind when planning for a specific gardening day. Plants are living, natural products, and no two are ever exactly the same. They change with the seasons and are shaped by nature’s elements. At Cape Garden, we care deeply about quality and will never send out a plant we believe is unfit for sale. Nature is ever-changing, perfectly imperfect — and that’s exactly why we love it so much!
