Planting & Care

Plant seedlings in full sun from late September through November for the best summer crop. Water regularly, keeping soil evenly moist but not soggy. Feed with a balanced fertilizer every few weeks to encourage strong growth and abundant fruiting. Stake plants if needed to support heavy fruit loads. Harvest from February through April when peppers turn fully yellow and glossy.

Did You Know? Yellow peppers are simply green peppers allowed to ripen further. Cape Town’s warm days and cooler nights in late summer help them develop their sunny colour and sweet flavour. Plant marigolds nearby as companions; they naturally deter pests and add extra bursts of yellow to your garden.
