Viburnum tinus ‘Lisa Rose’ is a fast-growing, evergreen shrub that brings year-round beauty and exceptional winter colour to the garden. Its dense, dark green foliage forms a naturally tidy shape, and from mid-winter into early spring it bursts into clusters of deep rosy-pink buds that open to soft pink-white, lightly fragrant blooms. These are followed by deep blue-black berries that add even more interest long after flowering.

What sets ‘Lisa Rose’ apart from standard Viburnum tinus varieties is its more compact, bushy growth, richer pink buds, and heavier flowering, making it ideal for smaller gardens or any space where a neat, reliable structure plant is needed. It thrives in Western Cape conditions and copes well with full sun to semi-shade, wind and winter rainfall, becoming moderately drought tolerant once established.

Why you’ll love it
• Evergreen, dense and fast-growing — perfect for hedges and privacy
• Deep pink buds opening to soft pink-white flowers in winter
• Attractive deep blue-black berries after flowering
• More compact and floriferous than many other Viburnum tinus types
• Low-maintenance, reliable, and suitable for sun or semi-shade

Planting & Care
Plant in full sun to semi-shade in well-drained soil. Space 60–80 cm apart for a solid hedge or use individually as feature shrubs or container specimens. Water regularly while establishing, then reduce watering as plants become more water-wise. Feed in spring with a balanced fertiliser and lightly prune after flowering to maintain shape and encourage dense growth.
