Add effortless beauty to your garden with this resilient, low-maintenance perennial. Perfect for the Western Cape climate, it produces a spectacular show of pure white daisy flowers from late winter into summer and even intermittenly year-round. The crisp white petals feature striking golden-yellow centers that beautifully attract local bees and butterflies. With its tidy, mounded growth habit, this hardy plant is ideal for patio pots, hanging baskets, garden borders, and beds. 'White Lightning' thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, becoming remarkably water-wise once established.

Why You'll Love It

  • Produces masses of brilliant white flowers over an extended flowering season.
  • Compact, tidy growth makes it perfect for borders, pots, and small gardens.
  • Low-maintenance and needs less watering than exotic bedding plants once established.
  • Attracts bees and other beneficial pollinators to the garden.
  • Excellent for adding bright, long-lasting colour to sunny outdoor spaces.

Plant & Care

Plant in a sunny position with well-drained soil for the best flowering display. Water regularly during establishment, then reduce watering as the plant matures, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Remove spent flowers to encourage continuous blooming throughout the season. Lightly trim after the main flush of flowers to maintain a neat shape and promote fresh growth. Apply a balanced fertiliser in late winter or early spring to support vigorous flowering.

Did You Know?

Despite its common name, the African Daisy doesn't only open its flowers for spring displays. Its blooms naturally open in bright sunlight and may close during dull weather or at night, helping protect their pollen and nectar.
