Wild Garlic (Wildeknoffel) is a tough, water-wise indigenous plant with edible, fragrant leaves and beautiful purple blooms that's perfect for sunny spots, borders, and container planting in Western Cape gardens.

Why You'll Love It:
• Hardy South African indigenous species
• Edible leaves for fresh salads or cooked dishes
• Beautiful mauve-pink flowers above clumps of narrow, grey-green leaves
• Distinctive garlic scent when leaves are crushed
• Attracts butterflies and beneficial insects to your garden
• Perfect for creating sustainable, indigenous gardens
• Supports local ecosystems

Planting & Care:
Grow Wild Garlic in full sun or light semi-shade in well-draining soil. Enrich the soil with compost at planting and water regularly during establishment. Once settled, the plant becomes naturally water-wise and very low maintenance. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage repeat flowering and divide clumps every few years to maintain vigour. Perfect for edging beds, filling gaps, or adding edible interest to herb gardens and containers.
