A dazzling trailing plant that produces masses of hot pink, bee-striped blooms from early spring (September) through late autumn (May) in Cape Town’s Mediterranean climate. Perfect for hanging baskets, window boxes, and containers, Million Bells are loved for their continuous flowering and vibrant colour. Thrives in full sun to semi-shade, with regular watering and well-drained soil. A cheerful, non-stop bloomer that brings instant joy and colour to any space.
Plant in well-drained potting soil in full sun to semi-shade. Water regularly, especially during Cape Town’s dry summer months, but avoid waterlogging. Feed with a liquid fertiliser every 2–3 weeks to encourage continuous blooms. Deadheading is not necessary, as plants self-clean. Protect from heavy winter rains by placing containers under cover.
Calibrachoa is often called “mini petunia” because of its similar trumpet-shaped flowers, but unlike petunias, Million Bells are self-cleaning—meaning no tedious deadheading is required for months of colour!
