This hardy tree is an exceptional option to clip into a topiary standard or 'lollipop'. Trim new growth every 4-6 weeks during growing season (spring-summer) to maintain dense, compact shape. Use sharp, clean secateurs and cut just above leaf nodes. For best results, start shaping when young and maintain regular light pruning rather than heavy cuts. In 'wilder' garden settings it also works excellently as a screening hedge that can be tamed to any height desired. It can also grow into a dense shade tree.
