Plectranthus ‘Mona Lavender’ – a quick-growing, evergreen perennial that forms a neat, rounded shrub with glossy dark green leaves and rich purple undersides. Upright sprays of soft lavender flowers appear mainly in autumn and spring, adding gentle colour to shaded beds and patios. Developed at Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, this indigenous favourite brings reliable performance and year-round appeal to Western Cape gardens.

Why You'll Love It:
• Indigenous, fast-growing and easy to maintain
• Glossy green leaves with striking purple undersides
• Lavender blooms in autumn and spring
• Thrives in morning sun or bright shade
• Excellent for pots, borders and mass plantings
• Ideal for bringing colour to shaded garden areas
• Reliable structure and texture throughout the year

Planting & Care:
Plant in morning sun or bright, filtered light in well-drained soil enriched with compost. Water regularly during establishment, then reduce as the plant settles. Feed in spring with a balanced slow-release fertiliser to encourage strong, bushy growth and abundant flowering. Space 60–80 cm apart for mass plantings or use individually as feature plants in containers and mixed borders. Pinch back tips after flowering to maintain a compact shape.
