Alstroemeria Colorita ‘Kate Red’ is a long-flowering, compact Inca Lily that brings a bold splash of colour to the garden with its striking red flowers and attractive, lush green foliage. Its neat, clump-forming habit makes it ideal for flowerbeds, borders, pots, patio containers, and smaller gardens, while its long-lasting blooms also make excellent cut flowers with an impressive vase life.
Plant Inca Lily ‘Kate Red’ in well-drained, fertile soil in a sunny or lightly shaded position. Water regularly while establishing, keeping the soil evenly moist but avoiding waterlogged conditions. Once established, maintain consistent watering during active growth and flowering, particularly during hot, dry periods.
Feed with a balanced fertiliser during the growing season to encourage healthy foliage and abundant flowering. Remove spent flowers and damaged foliage regularly to keep the plant looking tidy and encourage further blooms. To encourage new shoots and continued flowering, pull flower stems firmly from the base rather than cutting them. Protect the plant from extreme heat where necessary and provide good drainage to support healthy root growth.
