In Cape Town’s climate, it thrives in full sun, tolerates coastal exposure, and adapts to a wide range of soils. Capable of growing up to 1m per year, Leylandii is one of the most popular choices for instant hedging and boundary planting. Its resilience to wind and salt spray makes it ideal for coastal gardens, while its dense growth habit ensures effective screening in urban and suburban landscapes. Note: Leylandii requires regular pruning to prevent overgrowth. If left unchecked, it can reach heights of 15-20m, making it unsuitable for small gardens unless carefully managed.
