A striking rosette succulent, Devotion is admired for its fleshy leaves that range from deep green to rich burgundy-red, intensifying in colour under bright sun. Compact and symmetrical, it adds bold contrast to containers, rockeries, and water-wise gardens. In Cape Town’s climate, it produces tall flower stalks in late spring to summer (November–February), bearing clusters of orange-red, bell-shaped blooms that attract pollinators. With its dramatic colouring and easy-care nature, Devotion is a favourite among collectors and landscapers alike.
Devotion Succulent Echeveria ‘Devotion’
Plant in sandy, well-draining soil and position in full sun to semi-shade. Water sparingly, allowing soil to dry between waterings, especially in winter. Remove spent flower stalks to keep plants neat. Protect from frost and excessive winter rain by ensuring good drainage. Minimal care is rewarded with vibrant foliage and seasonal blooms.
Echeverias are native to Mexico and Central America, where they grow on rocky slopes. The ‘Devotion’ cultivar is especially prized for its rich red tones, which intensify in bright light, making it a living jewel in any succulent collection.
