Graceful, luminous, and delightfully fragrant, the Gold Crest Wilma is a compact cultivar of the Monterey Cypress that brings instant elegance to any space. Its bright golden-green foliage glows year-round, while its naturally slender, columnar form makes it perfect for adding structure and height to gardens, patios, and entrances. Brush against its fine, feathery leaves and you’ll be rewarded with a refreshing lemony scent, making it a plant that engages both sight and smell. In Cape Town’s Mediterranean climate, this hardy evergreen thrives outdoors in sun or semi-shade, and its manageable size makes it equally suited for containers, decorative rows, or indoor accent displays. The Gold Crest Wilma isn’t just a plant. It's a living sculpture, combining architectural form with radiant colour and a touch of fragrance.
Plant in well-draining soil enriched with compost. Position in full sun to semi-shade for best colour. Water moderately, once established, Gold Crest Wilma is relatively water-wise in Cape Town’s climate. Prune lightly to maintain its neat columnar form. Suitable for indoor use in bright, airy spaces, but thrives outdoors where it can enjoy fresh air and sunlight.
