Garden Aloes

The 'Tree Aloe' is Africa's tallest Aloe and forms branches with orange spikes as flowers, creating an excellent focal point in any garden. Widely used for its architectural shape, this evergreen giant is perfect as a dramatic feature plant in large gardens and coastal properties. Often used in office parks and commercial sites,'Aloe bainesii' offers year-round structure and beauty.                                                                                                                          Young trees do well in pots, but ensure the pot is sturdy and wide. 'Tree Aloe' is proudly indigenous and thrives in full sun and dry conditions, making it ideal for low-maintenance gardens in the Western Cape.

An aloe from the Cape that flowers during summer. The stems of this succulent aloe trail along the ground, often rooting where they touch down. The leaves are short and broad and arranged in a rosette and has a toothy edge.

Fan Aloe (Aloe Plicatilis) showcases architectural, fan-shaped foliage that stands up beautifully in Cape Town and George gardens. Ornamental, water-wise, and low-maintenance, this aloe is ideal for coastal wind exposure, dramatic rock garden accents, or container planting with minimal fuss.

This stemless aloe has broad, flattened leaves with smooth margins. The foliage color can be variable depending on the amount of sunlight from either a dull reddish-green, or a grey-green with a pinkish-red edge. Clusters of pendulous, glossy coral-red flowers on branched stems appear in August and September.

Brevifolia forms a carpet of decorative dense rosettes and is also known as Short-Leaf Aloe. The leaves grey-green leaves are fleshy an triangular and will turn a rosy pink in the sun. Ideal for beds, borders and rock gardens.
